FAQ

Questions patients often ask before visiting

Where is EROM Dental Clinic, Seocho Gyodae Station?

Lawyers Tower 5F, 125 Seochojungang-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul. Take Exit 8 of Gyodae Station (Subway Lines 2 and 3), and Lawyers Tower is right in front of you; the clinic is on the 5th floor. If you come by car, the building uses valet parking and parking validation covers up to 2 hours 30 minutes. If you have trouble finding us, call 02-511-7575 and we will guide you.

What are your opening hours?

Mondays and Wednesdays 09:30–20:30, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 09:30–18:30, Saturdays 09:30–14:00. Lunch break is 13:00–14:00, and on Saturdays we work through without a lunch break. We are closed on Sundays; on public holidays we are open on some days, so please call to check. On weekdays from 2 PM to 4 PM, you can be seen without an appointment.

Do you offer evening hours?

We are open until 8:30 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays—days when you can come after work. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays we are open until 6:30 PM, on Saturdays until 2 PM, and closed on Sundays. If you plan to come in the evening, it is best to book a time in advance by phone (02-511-7575) or Naver Booking.

Can I be seen without an appointment?

On weekdays from 2 PM to 4 PM, you can be seen without an appointment. We keep this time open for busy office workers. However, how far we can go that day depends on your teeth and the tests needed, so if you are short on time, call us in advance and we will plan accordingly. At other times, booking ahead means a shorter wait.

Are you open on Sundays and public holidays?

We are closed on Sundays. We are generally closed on public holidays, but we are open on some days such as substitute holidays, so please call 02-511-7575 before visiting to check. On Saturdays we work straight through from 09:30 to 14:00 without a lunch break, so if weekdays are hard for you, Saturday is an option.

When is the lunch break?

Our lunch break is 13:00–14:00. On Saturdays we work straight through from 09:30 to 14:00 with no lunch break. From 2 PM, when lunch ends, until 4 PM you can be seen without an appointment, so many people working nearby use this time. At other times, booking ahead usually means a shorter wait.

How do I book an appointment?

Calling (02-511-7575) or visiting in person is fastest, and you can also book through Naver Booking, our KakaoTalk Channel or Naver TalkTalk. We respond in the order requests are received, and on weekdays from 2 PM to 4 PM you can walk in without an appointment. On your first visit we check your teeth with photos and X-rays before explaining, so it takes a little longer.

What are your phone number and email?

Phone: 02-511-7575. Email: erom_work@naver.com. You can also contact us via our KakaoTalk Channel and Naver TalkTalk, and book through Naver Booking. We may not be able to answer the phone right away during treatment, so if you cannot get through, leave a message on our KakaoTalk Channel and we will reply as soon as we see it. Hours: Mon·Wed 09:30–20:30, Tue·Thu·Fri 09:30–18:30, Sat 09:30–14:00.

Where can I park?

The building uses valet parking, and parking validation covers up to 2 hours 30 minutes. Beyond 2 hours 30 minutes, the validation does not reduce any additional fee. Please note that valet is not a service provided by the clinic but the parking system of the entire Lawyers Tower building. By subway, Exit 8 of Gyodae Station (Lines 2 and 3) connects directly, so public transport may be more convenient on days when your appointment could run long.

Where is the prosthesis made?

It is made in our in-house lab. All prostheses except temporary dentures are designed in the clinic, and the Chief Director checks and adjusts what our in-house lab technician designs. If outsourced, only the finished product comes back, but making it in-house means we can show you the process and make adjustments right away when matching shape or color. We use an intraoral scanner, milling machines, a sintering furnace and 3D printers in the clinic.

Can an inlay or crown be done in a single day?

Inlays and crowns can sometimes be finished on the same day. Onlays and overlays are also possible in some cases. However, overlays take a little longer to make and place than crowns, so if your schedule is tight—for example, if you are about to leave the country—same-day treatment may be difficult. What is possible depends on your teeth and that day's bookings, so we advise you after examination.

What is EROM Live?

A service that lets you see every step of making your prosthesis. We share which of the five steps—scanning, design, milling, sintering and glazing—it is at, and we sometimes record the production and send it via KakaoTalk. This is possible because we have an in-house lab and can show the process as it happens. MINISH is not included.

What does patient-led care mean?

Care in which you choose treatment that fits your values based on sufficient information. We explain the diagnosis, why we reached it and the alternatives, and then let you choose. During consultation, we show you the condition of your teeth with photos, X-rays and, if needed, Q-ray as we explain. Implants, MINISH and cavity treatment all follow the same approach.

What does tooth-saving treatment mean?

It is a collective name for overlays, onlays, inlays and laminate veneers. The precise term the Chief Director uses is ceramic adhesive restoration, and MINISH is included. It refers to an approach that first looks for ways to trim less and preserve more of the tooth, and it is the area the Chief Director is most interested in. However, depending on your condition a crown may be right, so we decide together which is better after examination.

How are overlays and crowns different?

The Chief Director explains it with the analogy of a house. If a crown is like tearing down sturdy walls and rebuilding the whole house because the roof has a problem, an overlay keeps the walls as they are and precisely repairs only the damaged roof. The materials differ too. A crown uses high-strength zirconia to withstand force, while an overlay uses ceramic—lower in strength but with stronger adhesion to the tooth—becoming one with the tooth to distribute force. That is why an overlay can preserve the enamel around the neck of the tooth. However, for people with very strong bite force or severe teeth grinding, we may recommend a crown.

How are inlays and onlays different?

They differ in how much they cover. An inlay fills a cavity inside the tooth, while an onlay also covers the cusps of the chewing surface. If damage stays within the chewing surface, we consider an inlay; if it has spread to the edge of the chewing surface, an onlay. If the whole chewing surface is damaged but the sides are intact, an overlay; if the sides are also damaged and not enough wall remains, a crown. Which one is often decided only after removing the damaged part and checking the actual extent.

Does MINISH require no tooth trimming?

No. Some trimming is involved. The aim is to reduce trimming, not to eliminate it, and the scope varies by case. The more uneven the teeth, the more trimming is unavoidable, so with severe malocclusion we believe it is better in the long term to have orthodontic treatment first rather than MINISH alone. For those who want absolutely no trimming, the Chief Director does not recommend MINISH.

How long is the MINISH warranty?

Our MINISH warranty period is 7 years. There is no separate warranty standard set by MINISH headquarters; this warranty is set by EROM Dental itself, and this year we extended it from 5 years to 7 years. The condition is an annual check-up; damage caused by the patient and changes requested simply because of a change of mind after agreeing to the shape and color and completing bonding are excluded.

What is the implant warranty?

The fixture is warranted for 5 years and the abutment and crown for 2 years. The condition is a check-up every 6 months; damage caused by the patient, such as accidents or external impact unrelated to treatment, is repaired at cost, and osseointegration failure caused by smoking is not covered. This warranty is also a standard set by EROM Dental Clinic itself. When treatment is finished, we also give you an implant aftercare guide.

Why use a guided implant?

It is to place the implant while considering both the position of the bone and the final shape of the tooth. When placing implants, EROM Dental runs a 3D simulation based on low-dose 3D CT images and makes a custom surgical guide in the clinic, aiming to place the implant precisely where planned. Using a guide does not make every case the same; the plan varies with your bone and gum condition.

What is immediate implant placement?

This method places an implant directly into the extraction site. In most cases no incision or flap is needed, so swelling and pain tend to be less. However, initial stability is most important, so it is difficult when there is a large gap in the extraction site, when periodontitis has caused major bone loss, or when the maxillary sinus or inferior alveolar nerve canal lies just below. We may also not recommend it for those who have difficulty maintaining oral hygiene because of the risk of infection.

What is All on X?

A treatment that uses a minimal number of implants in carefully planned positions to reduce the burden of extensive bone grafting and restore chewing function. The Chief Director explains it not as a higher concept of implants but as a treatment with a different concept. Whether it is better to place many implants or to place fewer and go with All on X depends on your remaining bone and general health, so we decide together after examination.

When is All on X chosen?

It is an option when few teeth remain. Compared with placing many implants, it often involves a smaller surgical area and less bone grafting, which can be advantageous for older patients or those with systemic conditions. On the other hand, there are cases where we do not recommend it. If your general health is not suitable for surgery—for example, heavy smoking or drinking or severe diabetes—we do not recommend implant surgery itself, and All on X follows the same standard.

When is root canal treatment done?

Root canal treatment shortens a tooth's lifespan, so EROM Dental treats it as a last resort. The deciding factor is the condition of the nerve. If cold water only causes sensitivity without pain, or the tooth does not hurt at rest, it can often be saved with restorative treatment alone; if pain from cold water lingers, the tooth hurts at rest, or it hurts more when lying down, we consider root canal treatment necessary. We also proceed when the nerve is exposed while removing decay or when inflammation forms at the root tip. Since December 2023 we have used a plasma root canal device, which in some cases helps shorten treatment.

Can I get the national oral health screening here?

Yes, you can. EROM Dental Clinic is a nationally designated oral screening institution designated by the National Health Insurance Service, providing oral screenings for adults (general and life-transition), students, and infants and children. If you work, you can walk in on weekdays between 2 PM and 4 PM, and since we are open until 8:30 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays, you can also come after work. If anything needing treatment is found apart from the screening, we explain it separately and then decide whether to proceed.

Do you have a partnership with university hospitals?

We have had a clinical cooperation agreement with Seoul St. Mary's Dental Hospital since June 1, 2012, and also a clinical cooperation relationship with Seoul National University Hospital. This is an agreement, not a certification or guarantee. It means that if a situation arises during treatment that requires a university hospital, we can refer you through that route. Separately, we are also a nationally designated oral screening institution designated by the National Health Insurance Service.

What is your treatment record?

As of August 6, 2026, we have seen 18,140 patients in total. We placed 1,306 implants from November 2021 to August 6, 2026, and completed 2,719 prosthesis designs over 14 months from June 2025 to July 2026. All figures are counts from internal clinic records, and the numbers do not indicate the outcome of any individual treatment. The right treatment is decided after examination and consultation.

Which implant fixtures do you use?

We use fixtures from three companies: Dentis, MegaGen and Straumann. For Dentis we use SQ and AXEL, for MegaGen BD (Blue Diamond), and for Straumann BLT and BLX, with MegaGen BD and Straumann BLT as our main systems. Which fixture we use depends on the bone condition and location of the implant site, and the cost also varies by product. At consultation we tell you which product we have planned.

What equipment does your in-house lab have?

We have the CEREC Primescan intraoral scanner, CEREC Primemill and P53DC 5-axis milling machines, the CEREC SPEEDFIRE sintering furnace and 3D printers in the clinic. Our 3D printers are the Flashforge Focus 8.9, Zenith D, Zenith L and Bambu Lab X1 Carbon. For imaging we have a low-dose 3D CT, and for diagnosis we use photos and X-rays, plus Q-ray when needed. A technician in our in-house lab handles the design, and the Chief Director checks and adjusts it.

Does EROM Live apply to MINISH too?

MINISH is not covered by EROM Live. It applies to all other prostheses: we let you know which of the five steps—scanning, design, milling, sintering and glazing—your prosthesis is at, and we sometimes record the production and send it via KakaoTalk. If you have MINISH, we explain your progress at consultations and visits.

Do you offer orthodontic treatment?

We do not offer orthodontic treatment. However, doing MINISH or laminate veneers on uneven teeth inevitably increases tooth trimming, so with severe malocclusion we believe it is better in the long term to have orthodontic treatment first. In such cases, we advise you on the best order after reviewing the test results. The care EROM Dental provides includes implants, ceramic adhesive restoration (overlay, onlay, inlay, laminate veneer, MINISH), root canal treatment, gum treatment, wisdom tooth extraction and national oral screenings.

How are treatment fees determined?

It depends on your teeth, the materials and any additional procedures needed, so an accurate cost can only be given after examination and consultation. For implants, the fee varies with the fixture and the treating dentist, and KRW 200,000 is added for front teeth. Inlays, onlays, overlays and crowns vary with the material and coverage area, and some items have conditions, such as an overlay on a tooth that has had root canal treatment. The fee table on our website shows starting prices, and details are explained when you visit.

Do treatment results vary from person to person?

The progress and recovery speed of any treatment depend on your oral condition and general health, and an accurate plan and cost can only be given after examination and consultation. Even for the same treatment, the options vary with the condition of your remaining teeth and bone, bite force, grinding habits and smoking. That is why EROM Dental explains the diagnosis, the reasons behind it and the alternatives, and then lets you choose.
